Maccabi to play in Pro Stars Tourney in Angers, France
From September 21 – 24, Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv will take part in the Pro Stars tournament in Angers, located in western France. Maccabi won the tournament in 2009.

Maccabi to Face Netanya in Chance Cup Tourney
As has become the custom in recent years, the Israeli Basketball League Administration will organize a season-opening tournament to be called the Chance Cup. The tournament will be held October 9 – 13 at Malha Arena in Jerusalem. Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv will face Barak Netanya in the quarterfinals.

Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv Mourns the Passing of Mike Mitchell
Mike Mitchell, one of the best foreign athletes to play for the club, has died at the age of 55 after battling cancer for two years. Mitchell played for Maccabi during the 1991 – 1992 season, and averaged 20.4 points per game in the Israeli League.

Adriatic League List Complete – Season Starts October 8
The list of the fourteen teams which will make up the Adriatic League for the 2011 – 2012 season has been released by the league’s management. Some familiar names appear on the list: Ljubljana, Partizan mt:s Belgrade, and Cibona Zagreb. The season gets underway on October 8.

The directorate of the Basketball League Administration has approved several changes in the Lotto League. The key difference is the cancellation of the Russian Rule, but only four foreign players can appear on the game roster.

David Blu Will Remain with Maccabi Next Season
American/Israeli forward David Blu has agreed to continue for another season with Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv; it will be his sixth season with the club. Blu was named MVP of the Israeli Final Four.

Chuck Eidson Parts Ways with Maccabi
Chuck Eidson has announced via his agent that he will not be returning to Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv, and expressed his thanks for two wonderful years with the club. Eidson has not yet decided where he will play next season.

American center Shawn James (27, 2.08 meters) has signed with Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv. Blatt: “I’m very happy about Shawn’s joining us.
