Coach Zvika Sherf chose to leave Nikola Vujcic on the bench and started with Esteban Batista, who was joined by Terence Morris, Omri Casspi, Vonteego Cummings and Yotam Halperin. Holon started with P.J. Tucker, Chris Watson, Moran Roth, Tre Simmons and Eric Campbell.
Maccabi had a better start and took a 2-7 lead after Casspi hit a three pointer, but Holon was quickly back in the game, and despite Morris collected already in the first quarter 12 points Maccabi held just a one point lead after 10 minutes, 28-29.
A bad shooting start early in the second quarter by the champs allowed Holon to take a 33-37 lead, but Sherf's boys pushed the ball to the paint and showed diversity with a three pointer by Halperin to take a 40-42 lead. Both teams lacked intensity on defense and David Bluthenthal with his first three pointer made it 54-55 at half time.
Morris and Casspi dominated the offensive board to help Maccabi take a 58-63 lead four minutes inside the second half. Maccabi continued to run and another bucket by Morris off the offensive glass made it an eight point game, 60-68, the biggest lead registered in the game. Holon took a time out and came back with four unanswered points, before Amit Tamir hit a three pointer to finish to enter the last quarter down 73-75.
Another three pointer by Tamir put Holon on top but Morris answered with five of his own and Maccabi held the lead again, before Holon tied it at 85-85. Tony Washam found his rhythm and later was joined by Tucker was took over the game in the closing minutes. The massive forward made it 98-94 before Morris answered with another three pointer and make it just a one point game. Tucker scored again and Maccabi had 24 seconds to clean a three point defecit. Halperin took a tough three pointer, Holon got the rebound and secured the win, 101-99.
