Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv has completed its frontcourt for the upcoming 2008-09 Euroleague season by inking center D'or Fischer to a two-year deal.
Fischer (211, 27) arrives to Maccabi from Euphony Bree where he had a great season, leading the Belgian League in rebounds, blocked shots and index ranking and becoming the MVP of the competition. Fischer averaging 14.4 points, 10.8 rebounds and 2.8 blocks in 36 games, helping Bree to win the Belgian League regular season and reach the title series against Spirou Charleroi.
Fischer has also been the German League top shot blocker (2.6 bpg.) playing for EWE Baskets Oldenburg in the 2006-07 season. Fischer played two years in Western Virginia college before moving to Europe. His first stop was Poland where he played for Anwil Wloclawek and registered his ULEB Cup debut in the 2005-06 season before joining Oldenburg.
Maccabi is still looking for a point guard to complete its roster for the upcoming season
