Tal Burstein is coming back home to Maccabi Tel Aviv as an assistant coach, the former legendary playerhave penned a one year deal with the club. Burstein (37) was one of Maccabi's all-time greats who retired from the game five years ago due to injury.
This will be Tal's premiere behind the lines, Tal who was a smart player and a winner will bring with him all the advantages he had as a player – leadership, high basketball IQ, and most of all a big heart and experience.
Tal firstarrived to Maccabi in the 2000/01 season at the age of 20 from Herzelia, and in his first season with the club he became a starter for the team that won the European championship (Suproleague). He played 11 seasons for Maccabi Tel Aviv and he's one of the very few players to win three European titles while wearing the Maccabi jersey. In his 11 seasons with the club he won 22 titles- 10 championships, 8 domestic cups, 3 European championships and 1 Adriatic league championship.
As a Maccabi player Tal scored over 3,200 point, during the 2011/12 season he served as team captain and he retired at the end of that season.
