Tarik Black who last played in the NBA is joining Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv for the upcoming season. Black fortifies Maccabi's front court that includes Alex Tyus, Johnny O'Bryant, Jake Cohen, Angelo Caloiaro and Nimrod Levi.
"He is a great man and a great basketball player", said coach Neven Spahija to Maccabi's official website. "He has a lot of energy and great defensive ability. Offensively he is capable of dunking everything the guards will pass to him. He also has an extraordinary presence in the locker room".
Tarik is considered a very strong player who grew up in Memphis Tennessee. After graduating from high school Tarik joined Memphis University where he was selected to the first and second all-defensive team in the conference. After completing his B.A Black moved to Kansas University for the 2013/14 season, he then went undrafted but Houston signed him and he had 25 appearances with the Rockets.
In December 2014, Black joined the Los Angeles Lakers where he was assigned to their G-League affiliated team but got called back the next day, he then went on playing 144 games with the Lakers where he averaged 5.5PPG and 5.1RPG in 16.6MPG. After the 2016/17 season Tarik started his second stint with the Rockets where he played 55 games. In Per 36 minutes he accumulated 11.7P while making 55.7% for 2P and 11.2R.
