Maccabi Fox Tel Aviv's great momentum continued Sunday night in Menorah Mivtachim Arena, as the Yellow & Blue beat Maccabi Haifa 91:77, opening up a two-point lead in the top of the Israeli league. On Thursday, the Israeli champions head out on the road to face Bayern Munich in EuroLeague action, and on Sunday will host the third derby of the year, as Giannis Sfairopoulos's squad will compete against Hapoel Tel Aviv.
"I want to congratulate our players for the win tonight, from the 15th minute we started to produce better on defense", Said head coach Giannis Sfairopoulos after the win. "We took control of the game until the end, gaining a double-digit lead, we deserve to win, and each one (win) is significant for us. I want to thank the fans that came out tonight, they got a lot of games this past week (Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday). We are happy we gave them happiness".
"Haifa is a good offensive team", Acknowledged Tyler Dorsey, who finished the night as Maccabi's top scorer with 18 points. "In the second half, we were able to overcome a couple of tumbles and stop them on defense. I bring energy every single night, offensively and defensively, and that's my mindset coming in. We are trying to stay undefeated, but obviously it will get harder and harder. We hope to keep the same mentality".
