Farmar returns for his second stint with Maccabi Tel Aviv after having played for the club at the start of the 2011-12 season during the NBA lockout. Then, he was the top player for Maccabi with averages of 14.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game in the Euroleague. He quickly became a fan favorite thanks to his impressive style and charming personality.

In the summer of 2006, Farmar was selected in the first round of the NBA draft (26th place) by the Los Angeles Lakers, for whom he played for his first 4 seasons as a professional and with whom he won 2 championships (2009 and 2010). In the summer of 2010 he received an impressive contract offer from the New Jersey Nets, where he played for two years, posting averages of 9.9 points and 4.4 assists.

In 2012-13 the guard returned to Europe, signing with Anadolu Efes Istanbul. He was one of the most prominent players in the Euroleague that season, with averages of 13.8 points and 3.9 assists per game. He led the Turks to the fifth game of the Euroleague quarterfinals against Olympiacos (who went on to win the title).

Farmar returned to the Lakers for the 2013-14 season, contributing 10 points and 4.9 assists per game, with 44% shooting from outside the arc. The point guard began last season, 2014-15, with the cross-town rival Los Angeles Clippers, but feeling that he wasn’t getting enough playing time, Farmar left the team in February and returned to Turkey, signing with Darü??afaka Do?u?. He led that club to third place in the local league, which earned the team an historic card to the Euroleague. Farmar was the top player for the club, averaging 14.8 points per game.
