This will be the ninth meeting between the teams since 1998 and they are level at four wins each. This season Maccabi won in Bologna but lost in Tel Aviv. <br \/> This will be the sixth time that Maccabi plays an Italian team in a European Cup Final. Maccabi won the first two editions in 1977 vs Mobilgirigi Varese and in 198 vs Sinudyne Bologna. Then came three losses: In 1982 vs Forst Cantu and in 1987 &#038; 1988 vs Tracer Milano. <br \/> It will be Maccabi\u2019s tenth appearance in the Final having won three times. Both teams practiced yesterday &#038; today. The coaches Pini Gershon &#038; Jasmin Repesa and the players Anthony Parker &#038; Milos Vujanic appeared in a Press Confernece and agreed that the team to play the better defense, will lift the trophy.<br \/> It will be Pini Gershon\u2019s third Final appearance and if Maccabi wins, he will be the first Israeli coach to win the trophy twice. It will also be a third time appearance in a final for assistant coach David Blatt and players Gur Shelef &#038; Derrick Sharp, and the second one for Tal Burstein &#038; Anthony Parker.
