But one person stole the limelight \u2013 Yotam Halperin, who returns to the team after one year in Ljubljana with Union Olimpija. A few hours before the press conference the 22 years old signed a three years contract and will wear the number 21 vest. \u201cAt this stage I put off my dream to play in the NBA\u201d says Halperin, who was drafted (53#) by Seattle Supersonics. \u201cI had a long talk with coach Neven Spahija and the Maccabi offer was a serious one so I decided to return home. Halperin will start his fifth season with Maccabi. President Shimon Mizrahi assured the Media that the new look Maccabi team will go for all the titles like their predecessors. Vice president David Federman pointed that Macccbi\u2019s budget this season is the highest ever. New Head Coach Spahija said: \u201cI believe in the management, in the coaching staff and the players. I can promise that we will play attractive basketball and most important that we will win as many games as possible\u201d. The team will tomorrow travel to Slovenia, where they will hold a 10 days training camp in Zrece.
