Tal Brody, one of Maccabi Tel Aviv\u2019s greatest players, and the one who put Israel<\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region> on the map, was honored by the prestigious New York Times newspaper when it named him one of ten Americans who have made the biggest impact on the State of Israel.
<\/SPAN>Tal shares this honor with Golda Meir, Stanley Fischer, David Appleboim, Rabbi Chaim Pinchas Sheinberg, Shari Arison, Moshe Arens, John Medved, Professor Israel (Robert) Oman<\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region>, and Matthew Bronfman.<\/o:p><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/P>

The article states that Brody began his career with Maccabi Tel Aviv when he came to Israel<\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region> as a member of the U.S.<\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region> basketball team to play in the Maccabiah Games, even though he had been picked by Baltimore<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> in the NBA draft of 1965.
<\/SPAN>Two of his greatest achievements were the victory over CSKA Moscow in 1977, and winning the European Championship.<\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/P>

This year, Tal Brody received many honors and awards of appreciation from the American Jewish community.
<\/SPAN>He was also the recipient of the annual prize awarded by the Better Business Bureau for his work on behalf of the public, in a ceremony which took place in San Diego<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>.
<\/SPAN>Tal, together with Miki Berkovich, represented Maccabi Tel Aviv in a special exhibition honoring the team that took place at the Basketball Hall of Fame in America<\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region>.
<\/SPAN>In addition, Brody was the honored guest of Rabbi Grossman at the annual gala event for Migdal Ohr, which was held in New York<\/st1:place><\/st1:State>, in recognition of his contributions and help with underprivileged children.<\/o:p><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/P>
