{"id":30059,"date":"2010-10-10T12:00:00","date_gmt":"2010-10-10T10:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost:8080\/bc-khimki-moscow-region-joins-maccabi-in-euroleague-group-a\/"},"modified":"2026-04-26T08:35:36","modified_gmt":"2026-04-26T05:35:36","slug":"bc-khimki-moscow-region-joins-maccabi-in-euroleague-group-a","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/maccabi.co.il\/en\/bc-khimki-moscow-region-joins-maccabi-in-euroleague-group-a\/","title":{"rendered":"BC Khimki Moscow Region Joins Maccabi in Euroleague Group A"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><P><FONT size=2 face=Arial>By Amy Samin<\/FONT><br \/><BR><\/P> <P><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Russian team Khimki Moscow, which did not lose a single game in the Euroleague qualifying rounds, has placed into the same group with Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv following easy victories over Caserta, Budivelnik and French team Le Mans.<\/FONT><br \/><BR><\/P> <P><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Sergio Scariolo, head coach of the Spanish national team and one of the most respected coaches on the continent, has put together one of the top-of-the-line teams in European basketball.<br \/> Keith Langford (1.93), who averaged 15.5 points per game in the Euroleague last season, leads Khimki again this season in the index and points.<br \/> Joining him in the backcourt are Raul Lopez (1.82) who played last season for Real Madrid, Zoran Planinic (1.99) formerly of CSKA Moscow, and Thomas Kelati (1.95) previously of Valencia.<\/FONT><br \/><BR><\/P> <P><FONT size=2 face=Arial>When it comes to the big men, Khimki\u2019s roster continues to impress.<br \/> Benjamin Eze (2.08) left Siena after six years with the club to join the Russian team.<br \/> Together with the imposing Aleksey Savrasenko (2.15), and Sergey Monya (2.02) who played last season for MBC Dynamo Moscow, they make for an outstanding frontcourt. <\/FONT><br \/><BR><\/P> <P><A href=\"mailto:samintranslations@yahoo.com\" target=_blank><FONT color=#0000ff size=2 face=Arial><U>samintranslations@yahoo.com<\/U><\/FONT><\/A><FONT size=2 face=Arial> <\/FONT><\/P><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last Friday, BC Khimki Moscow qualified for the Euroleague and will be part of Group A along with Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv.
