Today we crushed Jerusalem\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><P><FONT size=2 face=Arial>By Amy Samin<\/FONT><BR><BR><\/P> <P><FONT size=2 face=Arial>\u201cI think we crushed Jerusalem the whole length of the game, not just in the second quarter,\u201d said <B>David Blatt<\/B>.<BR>\u201cWe played well the whole game, in a manner suited to Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv.<BR>We were numb last week.<BR>We didn\u2019t play well in two games, and we lost one of them.<BR>If, because of that, we won tonight by 41 points, it was worth it.\u201d<\/FONT><BR><BR><\/P> <P><FONT size=2 face=Arial>\u201cPerkins was great tonight, not for the first time this season, but he didn\u2019t play alone,\u201d added Maccabi\u2019s head coach.<BR>\u201cI could see the happiness even in the first quarter.<BR>We\u2019re back to normal.\u201d<BR>Blatt also talked about next week\u2019s game against Bnei Hasharon:<BR>\u201cIt\u2019s always tough against [coach] Dan Shamir and Bnei Hasharon, who are having an excellent season.<BR>If I\u2019m not mistaken, they are in second place and rightfully so.<BR>They are a team that is super-skilled, superbly coached and with outstanding players.\u201d<\/FONT><\/P> <P align=center><IFRAME title=\"YouTube video player\" height=330 src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/2Wv4e6II3fo\" frameBorder=0 width=425 allowfullscreen><\/IFRAME><\/P> <P><FONT size=2 face=Arial>\u201cThis was the best answer we could have given to all the doubters.<BR>We played an outstanding game that was very important,\u201d Blatt concluded.<BR>\u201cWe came into this game with the gut feeling that the basketball we played against Rome had no resemblance to what we\u2019ve done so far this season.<BR>The guys played fantastic; they showed commitment and played the kind of basketball that suits Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv.<BR>I told my players that we don\u2019t have to do anything differently tonight, just show our usual commitment.<BR>I\u2019m happy that we didn\u2019t have a good game when it didn\u2019t matter, because then you all [the press] said what you had to say, and the result is the game you saw from us tonight.\u201d<\/FONT><BR><BR><\/P> <P><FONT size=2 face=Arial><B>Doron Perkins<\/B>, who was outstanding with a triple double (10 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists), said: \u201cWe played well, and I felt comfortable.<BR>We played good defense, and it was fun.<BR>We got a good result, and we did whatever we wanted, and I\u2019m proud of the team.<BR>The result isn\u2019t important but the fact that we played aggressively is.<BR>I hope we\u2019ll keep it going.\u201d<\/FONT><\/P> <P align=center><IMG border=1 hspace=0 alt=\"\" align=baseline src=\"https:\/\/www.maccabi.co.il\/mtpic\/20110306%200449%20(Large).jpg\"><\/P> <P><FONT size=2 face=Arial><B>Chuck Eidson<\/B>: \u201cI think the win started on Thursday night.<BR>Everybody really took to heart what happened against Rome, and kind of re-evaluated what kind of season we want to have.<BR>I think everybody came out and showed the kind of heart we want to have here.\u201d<\/FONT><BR><BR><\/P> <P><FONT size=2 face=Arial><B>Guy Pnini<\/B> summed things up: \u201cWe didn\u2019t think about point difference at the beginning.<BR>The most important thing is that we\u2019ve gotten back the spirit we\u2019ve had all year.<BR>We pressed hard on defense.<BR>We have so many good players, on any given day someone else can have an excellent game.<BR>I\u2019m really happy for Ma\u010dvan, who really got into the swing of things.<BR>He\u2019s a huge talent.<BR>He showed only a little of what he can do.<BR>Bnei Hasharon is the second best team in the league; we always have a tough time against them.<BR>We\u2019ll prepare for that game like we do for the Euroleague.<BR>It will be good preparation for the game against Caja Laboral [in the Euroleague quarterfinals].\u201d<\/FONT><\/P> <P><A href=\"https:\/\/www.samintranslations.com\/\" target=_blank><FONT color=#0000ff size=2 face=Arial><U>www.samintranslations.com<\/U><\/FONT><\/A><FONT size=2 face=Arial> <\/FONT><\/P><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After his team\u2019s 107 \u2013 66 victory over Hapoel Jerusalem, Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv head coach David Blatt said, \u201cWe\u2019re back to normal.
