The Israeli Basketball League Administration announced that the celebratory season opener of the 2011 \u2013 2012 season will be hosted by the league\u2019s second place team, Hapoel Gilboa\/Galil, which will face Israeli Champions Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv. The first round of the season will get underway on 16 October.<\/FONT>
<\/P>

Another decision made recently by the Administration was that Ironi Ashkelon will remain in the Premier League for another season, bringing the total number of teams in the league up to eleven. The Administration hopes to expand the league to twelve teams by next season; therefore none of the teams currently in the league will drop down to a lower league at the end of this season, and the champion of the second league will move up to the Premier League next season.<\/FONT>
