Maccabi can be well-satisfied with the team\u2019s offensive output, especially on the part of the three big men (Schortsanitis, Hendrix, and James), who combined for a total of 43 points. Farmar, Pnini, and Smith also had excellent games. Milan Ma\u0107van, who only joined the team this morning (Thursday), did not play. Tomorrow Maccabi will face Gravelines-Dunkerque.<\/FONT> <\/P> <P align=center><IFRAME height=330 src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/9P7vCPWGXZA\" frameBorder=0 width=425 allowfullscreen><\/IFRAME><\/P> <P align=center><STRONG><EM>Special thanks to CholetBasketTV<\/EM><\/STRONG><\/P><\/FONT> <P><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Head coach <B>David Blatt<\/B> said after the game, \u201cWe had a great game; the team looks very good for this stage. They guys are positioning themselves well on the court and playing together just the way we like, and that\u2019s thanks to the excellent work of the coaches and the players during the period of time when I wasn\u2019t with them. Goodes, Sharp, Kowalski and Shelef have done a great job. We handed out 27 assists and only turned the ball over 11 times, and that shows great coordination and teamwork. Of course it\u2019s still very early and there are no guarantees, but right now I\u2019m very happy.\u201d<\/FONT> <\/P> <P align=center><IMG style=\"WIDTH: 300px; HEIGHT: 450px\" border=1 hspace=0 alt=\"Great game for Jordan Farmar\" align=baseline src=\"https:\/\/www.maccabi.co.il\/mtpic\/Cholet%201%20042.jpg\"><\/P> <P><\/FONT><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Cholet came into the second quarter determined to get back into the game, and narrowed the gap to 33 \u2013 25 in the first two minutes of the period. Maccabi had some trouble finding the basket but managed to stay in the lead, 33 \u2013 28 with four minutes gone. Farmar, Maccabi\u2019s NBA import, had an excellent quarter with a string of three pointers, steals, and assists and with four minutes left in the half Maccabi was up 46 \u2013 30. Cholet tried to reduce the deficit, but couldn\u2019t match up in the paint against Sofo, James, and Richard Hendrix. Add in some tough defense by Theo Papaloukas, and Maccabi\u2019s lead had grown to 56 \u2013 37 by the time the clock ran out on an excellent first half.<\/FONT> <BR><\/P> <P><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Head coach David Blatt returned to his original fivesome at the start of the second half and Maccabi soon led 58 \u2013 37. Maccabi continued to dominate, and with four minutes left in the period had extended their lead to 70 \u2013 42. Cholet managed to slow the avalanche but couldn\u2019t close the gap, and Maccabi finished the quarter leading 78 \u2013 52.<\/FONT> <BR><\/P> <P align=center><FONT size=2 face=Arial><IMG style=\"WIDTH: 300px; HEIGHT: 450px\" border=1 hspace=0 alt=\"\u05d2\u05d9\u05d0 \u05d2\u05d5\u05d3\u05e1 \u05d5\u05d3\u05d9\u05d5\u05d5\u05d9\u05d3 \u05d1\u05dc\u05d0\u05d8 \u05de\u05e0\u05d4\u05dc\u05d9\u05dd \u05d0\u05ea \u05d4\u05de\u05e9\u05d7\u05e7\" align=baseline src=\"https:\/\/www.maccabi.co.il\/mtpic\/Cholet%202%20045.jpg\"><\/FONT><\/P> <P><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Maccabi\u2019s players were relaxed going into the final period with an assured lead, and the score climbed to 81 \u2013 55 in the first minute and a half of the quarter. Though the outcome of the game seemed a foregone conclusion, Blatt &#8211; as usual &#8211; made sure his players continued to give their all and Maccabi\u2019s lead had reached 92 \u2013 64 by the halfway point in the period. Though playing in only their second preseason game of the year, it\u2019s clear Maccabi\u2019s offense is running smoothly: with two and a half minutes left in the game, the score was 100 \u2013 70.
