{"id":31624,"date":"2011-11-09T12:00:00","date_gmt":"2011-11-09T10:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost:8080\/farmar-itll-be-fun-to-see-vujacic\/"},"modified":"2026-04-26T08:40:30","modified_gmt":"2026-04-26T05:40:30","slug":"farmar-itll-be-fun-to-see-vujacic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/maccabi.co.il\/en\/farmar-itll-be-fun-to-see-vujacic\/","title":{"rendered":"Farmar: \u201cIt\u2019ll be fun to see Vujacic\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><P><FONT size=2 face=Arial>By Amy Samin<\/FONT> <BR><\/P> <P><FONT size=2 face=Arial>One of the biggest stars signed by Anadolu Efes Istanbul this summer is Slovenian guard Sasha Vujacic, and there\u2019s no one who knows him better than Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv\u2019s point guard Jordan Farmar.<\/FONT> <BR><\/P> <P><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Farmar, who began playing in the NBA in 2006 \u2013 2007, came to the Lakers as Vujacic was starting his third season with the team. For the next four seasons they played together in the Lakers\u2019 back court, winning two NBA championships (2009 and 2010). Not only that, last season Farmar played for the New Jersey Nets, after signing a contract with them in the summer of 2010. Just a short time later, in December of 2010, as part of a three-way trade, Vujacic joined the Nets, playing alongside his friend Farmar once again.<\/FONT> <\/P> <P align=center><IFRAME height=330 src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jvXA7nHVSgY\" frameBorder=0 width=425 allowfullscreen><\/IFRAME><\/P> <P align=right><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Farmar talked about his relationship with Vujacic: \u201cWe\u2019ve spent a lot of time together, on and off the court, in the past five seasons. Sasha is a terrific player, a pure shooter; he was the shooting guard while I was the point guard. I remember during the 2007 \u2013 2008 season, when we lost to the Celtics in the final, he broke the Lakers\u2019 all-time record for three point shooting percentage in a season (with 43.7%).\u201d<\/FONT> <BR><\/P> <P><FONT size=2 face=Arial>\u201cHe played a big part in the Lakers\u2019 success during those great years \u2013 3 straight finals and 2 championship rings. I was really happy that he joined us last season at the Nets, and it\u2019s going to be fun to see him this week. I\u2019m sure we\u2019ll sit down and exchange memories and experiences. But on the court on Thursday, I\u2019ll forget that he\u2019s my friend and do everything I can to help Maccabi get another win.\u201d<\/FONT><BR><\/P> <P><A href=\"https:\/\/www.samintranslations.com\/\" target=_blank><FONT color=#0000ff size=2 face=Arial><U>www.samintranslations.com<\/U><\/FONT><\/A><FONT size=2 face=Arial> <\/FONT><\/P> <P><BR><\/P><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A lot of NBA stars came over to Europe this summer, but this looks to be the most interesting match-up so far.
