Olympiacos opened well but Maccabi stayed close; after three minutes the Greeks led 9-7. Sylven Landesberg came into the game and scored four quick points to tie the score at 11. The Israeli from Brooklyn continued to score, both from the field and the foul line, but<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"> \tOlympiacos managed to extend their lead to 27-20 by the end of the period.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"> \t <\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: center\"> \t<iframe loading=\"lazy\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\" height=\"330\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/lj6nxZ_dvYU\" width=\"425\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"> \t <\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"> \tAustralian big man Ater Majok opened the second quarter with points for Maccabi, while Landesberg and Giorgi Shermadini fought hard on defense. The Greeks continued to make their shots, but Shermadini also scored a nice mid-range jumper off the dish from Moran Roth, then added a layup that made it 34-26, Olympiacos, after four minutes of action. Maccabi&#8217;s offense began to find their groove, with an acrobatic spin and in by Hickman in the paint followed by a great assist by Pnini to Logan for a layup that put Maccabi within four, 34-30 with six minutes left in the half. Pnini went on to sink a catch and shoot from the right wing off a dish by James, while Roth&#8217;s steal and layup made it 38-35 with less than two minutes remaining. Olympiacos scored a couple of baskets, and the half ended with the Greeks still in the lead, 43-37.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"> \t <\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"> \tThe third quarter got underway with points by Olympiacos, but Shermadini found Landesberg for a backdoor layup; Landesberg also sank the and 1, putting Maccabi within three, 43-40. Three from the charity stripe by Olympiacos were answered by points from downtown by Roth, and Caner-Medley and Shermadini added points from the foul line, 48-47 Olympiacos with just under six and a half minutes left in the period. Hickman scored to give Maccabi their first lead of the game, but the Greeks responded immediately. Shermadini and Caner-Medley combined for six, and Logan added five of his own (a long three and a layup) to make it 60-56 Maccabi with just over a minute left. The period ended with Maccabi leading 61-60.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"> \t <\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"> \tJames and Hickman combined for six free throws early in the fourth quarter, and Hickman added another two from the field, putting Maccabi up 69-60 in the first minute and a half. James added a long two from just inside the top of the arc, then sent an alley oop to Caner-Medley under the basket. Maccabi also stepped up the defense, fighting for rebounds and forcing turnovers. A trey by Hickman on the right wing (assist Pnini) was followed by a three pointer from Logan in the left corner with just over two minutes left in the game, giving Maccabi a comfortable 88-70 lead. In the end, Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv defeated Olympiacos by a score of 92-74.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"> \t <\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"> \tAfter the game, head coach David Blatt said: &#8220;Yesterday we got our ship on course, and today we sailed along just as we should. It was a great performance by this new team of ours against the Euroleague champions, a team which was undefeated this season until now. The level of play was very high on both offense and defense.
