AEK took control right from the beginning of the extra time, Maccabi didn&#8217;t give up but ended up falling short to AEK who got the 95:99 W. Maccabi will return Tel Aviv tonight and will take off to the Zadar tournament on Tuesday.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p> \t&#8220;We lost the game but I cannot say nothing to the players, they fought and they did an amazing job in the second half&#8221;, said <strong>Coach Spahija<\/strong> after the 95:99 loss to AEK Athens. &#8220;To play with the same six main players and with Deni who is a junior team players means a lot for us in this tournament, I think we&#8217;re going to take the best from it, of course we&#8217;re going to use this tournament to make a lot of films with the good and with the bad things but we&#8217;re still thinking positive and that we have a good future a lot of talent in our team just to put that in order and to use that talent in the right way&#8221; coach added.<\/p>\n<p> \tRegarding that now he will have a full roster coach Spahija said: &#8220;It&#8217;s too early to say anything, first of all we have to rest because we spent a lot of energy, I&#8217;m talking about the seven players, they really need to rest, whenever the new players will come we are going to start slowly because also they play in the national teams, we are going to try and recover them and slowly step by step to put them in the system&#8221;.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p> \t&#8220;We were very out of it in the first half&#8221; <strong>Jeremy Pargo<\/strong> said, &#8220;fortunately we got it together in the second half, we were down in a tight game, we took the lead and had the chance to win the game late, and we made some costly mistakes but it&#8217;s the third game of the year it&#8217;s time to get better and time to learn, as a vet I made costly mistakes at the end of the game but like I said it&#8217;s time to get better and time for us to gel, granted we&#8217;re still missing some guys and still we had an opportunity to win the game we need to continue and get better and continue to work that&#8217;s what we&#8217;re going to do for sure&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p> \tWith their sights already set on the Zadar tournament Pargo added: &#8220;This is definitely a hope going forward, we had Deni get a really big opportunity at a young age to get out and play and he did really well, we just continue to grow and those guys who are away playing right now they are very experienced guys and they are gaining more experience where they are now so we have a chance to be something going forward and that&#8217;s the goal so we got to use these tournaments as growing pains going forward and continue to learn.<\/span><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Coach Neven Spahija after the 95:99 loss to AEK Athens at the OPAP tournament:&#8221;We have to rest because we spent a lot of energy&#8221;.
