Maccabi went off to a tremendous start on both ends of the floor as they outscored Herzelia 14:30 after ten minutes; from that point on, the squad of coach Sfairopoulos never looked back thanks to their amazing defense enroute of the 58:102 away win.<\/p>\n<p> \t\u201cBefore I start talking about the game I want to wish chag sameach (I.e. happy holiday) health and prosperity and to win games and titles to all the people of Israel and to our fans\u201d, said Coach <strong>Giannis Sfairopoulos<\/strong>. \u201cFor the game I want to say that we were very serious and I liked how the players were focused and concentrated to play this game. We knew that Herzelia wants to win as many games to stay in the league and they had a big win a few days ago, but I think that from the very first moment we didn\u2019t allow them with our good defense to get something from the game; we started really good allowing only two points in the first five minutes and also it was very important that we kept the rhythm offensively and defensively and I can say that the beginning of the second half it was excellent they scored only seven points in the third period and we had 33 points because from our good defense we had steals, deflections and fastbreaks\u00a0 good rhythm on offense, good shooting percentage, we really enjoyed this game; I want to congratulate my players\u201d.<\/p>\n<p> \t\u201cWe\u2019ve had a couple of really good weeks of practice\u201d, said <strong>Jake Cohen<\/strong>. \u201cI think that it paid off today, you could see we were focused and motivated right out of the gate, everybody from top to bottom on the roster helped us and it showed how dangerous we can be when we have that kind of contribution from everybody\u201d.<\/span><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Maccabi\u2019s head coach Giannis Sfairopoulos after the blowout win over Herzelia: \u201cWe started really good\u201d.
