The yellows want to start a new winning streak after losing last week in Moscow. Before the game: Doron Sheffer and Oded Kattash will be inducted into Maccabi's hall of fame
Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv never faced Monaco in any European competition. This will change on Wednesday when the yellows host the opponent from Monte Carlo in the Euroleague (21:00 local, 2 pm ET, live broadcast on 5 SPORT).
Before the game, an emotional ceremony will be held, in which Doron Sheffer and Oded Kattash will be inducted into Maccabi's hall of fame. "I am very happy that my club knows to honor and respect its legends," said Giannis Sfairopoulos, ahead of the game against the French team.
"It's a moment of glory, and they both deserve it. Doron and Oded were very important to Maccabi not just because of their statistical contribution but because they had the Maccabi mentality".
When asked about Monaco, the Greek coach added: "It's a very athletic opponent with a deep squad and many dangerous players. I am happy that we will have a packed arena behind us".
"When we play hard and together, we can win every game - home and away," said Keenan Evans. "Defense wins games, and we have great defensive abilities, so it's all about just doing the work."

In an evening that began with the induction of two living legends into the yellow hall of fame, Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv defeated Monaco 95:84 thanks to historical performance of another fantastic player.
Scottie Wilbekin watched the emotional ceremony in honor of Oded Katash and Doron Sheffer and reacted with 37 points that helped Maccabi battle past a very tough team at Menora Mivtachim Arena.
The Israeli champs started the game very well, but Monaco rallied back, and only a late fourth-quarter run and a significant contribution from Ante Zizic (14 points, 11 rebounds) secured Maccabi an important victory and a 7:3 Euroleague record.
On Friday, Maccabi will face Olympiacos in Greece in a game between two teams that can be considered as playoff contenders at this point of the season.
