Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv experienced a hectic week, playing two Euroleague games away in 48 hours, but as always, the yellows will have no time to rest. On Sunday (21:00 local, 2 pm ET), Giannis Sfairopoulos' team will return to Winner's league to face Hapoel Gilboa/Galil.

Maccabi's squad for the game will not include Scottie Wilbekin and Derrick Williams (who will rest), Ante Zizic (injured), and Mathias Lessort (not eligible for league games).

The full roster will then include John DiBartolomeo, Keenan Evans, Ido Menchel, Angelo Caloiaro, Kameron Taylor, Jalen Reynolds, Roman Sorkin, Oded Brandwein, Oz Blayzer, Jake Cohen, James Nunnally, and Yiftach Ziv.


Gilboa/Galil changed its face drastically during the summer and lost a lot of key players who led the team to the finals series last season. In addition, coach Avishai Gordon was replaced by his assistant Guy Kaplan.

After Sunday's game, Maccabi will start a series of five consecutive home games in the arena: three in the Euroleague and two in the domestic league.

Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv suffered its first loss in the Winner Basket League - 83:87 to Gilboa/Galil in Gan Ner. The yellows had the lead throughout most of the game but couldn't deliver in the final minutes and dropped to a 1:1 record.

Without Scottie Wilbekin, Derrick Williams, Ante Zizic, and Mathias Lessort, Maccabi was definitely missing some offensive firepower. Nevertheless, other players stepped up, like Roman Sorkin, who led the scorers with 16 points, and Yiftach Ziv, who had nine assists. At the and though, It wasn't enough, mainly because of a great performance from beyond the arc by Gilboa/Galil (11 accurate threes from 22 shots).

Giannis Sfairopoulos will now have four days to recover and prepare for a series of five consecutive home games, starting on Thursday against Panathinaikos.
