Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv will look to extends its winning streak on Tuesday, with a "home" game against ASVEL Villeurbanne that opens the final EuroLeague double week of the season (9:05 PM Israel time, 2:05 PM ET). The yellows won their previous 11 games across all competitions and hold a 16-13 record in the European top league, while the french rivals are 7-22.

The Israeli champs came back from an 18-point deficit to beat Crvena Zvezda in the previous EuroLeague gameday and are fighting for a playoffs spot with 5 games left. ASVEL might be second-last in the standings, but showed improvement in recent weeks. The black-and-white team won 4 out of 10 games since dismissing head coach Gianmarco Pozzecco in January and appointing his assistant, Pierric Poupet, as his replacement.



"Many teams struggled against ASVEL, they are better than what their record say", said Maccabi head coach Oded Kattash. "They are in good shape, won a couple games recently. It would be bad for us to think that this is going to be an easy game. They are dangerous, play with big lineups and have many weapons. We have to be very focused because a very important week is on our hands".

ASVEL's squad is headlined by EuroLeague legend Nando De Colo, with French forward Timothe Luwawu-Cabarot and center Joffrey Lauvergne also having good seasons. ASVEL also added ex-Maccabi forward Deshaun Thomas, who scored 20 points in the teams' 84-80 victory over Anadolu Efes last week. Israeli basketball fans will have a chance to watch point guard Noam Yaacov in action, as the 19-year-old Israeli scored 8.5 points and dished 3 assists per game in the last four games.

It's Wade's World, and we all get to be a part of it. A stellar performance by Wade Baldwin IV paced Maccabi to its 12 consecutive win across all competitions, a 98-90 triumph over stubborn ASVEL Villeurbanne.

The win elevated Maccabi to a 17-13 record and to the 7th spot in the standings with 4 games left to the regular season.

Baldwin IV was flawless throughout the contest, and played a key role in the final frame. That was when Maccabi completed a comeback from a 10-point deficit in the third quarter and pulled away for good.



The guard delivered a rare statline that included 30 points, 10 assists, 5 rebounds, 2 steals and 46 PIR. He was only one PIR point shy of Maccabi's EuroLeague record, held by Anthony Parker who achieved 47 PIR against the same ASVEL in 2005.

Besides Baldwin IV, Bonzie Colson (23 points), Josh Nebo (18 points and 10 boards) and John DiBartolomeo (11 points and 3 steals) were all crucial for the win. The Israeli champs will now move on to Munich, where a matchup against Bayern awaits on Friday.
