HOME·News Archive· Maccabi rolls past Eilat despite depleted roster
Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv overcame a depleted roster to compfortably roll past Hapoel Eilat 85-70 on the road on Monday. Josh Nebo excelled with a 19-point, 10-rebound double-double, while Lorenzo Brown dished 14 assists, his best with the Maccabi jersey.
Oded Kattash was left with only 8 available players for the game. Without the injured Roman Sorkin and youngsters Omer Mayer and Yaron Goldman who were with the club's youth team in the EuroLeague Next Generation Tournament, Maccabi also lost Tamir Blatt who felt knee pains ahead of the contest.
Yet the Israeli champs jumped out to a 10-0 lead to begin the game and never gave that up despite the southeners comeback attempts. Along with Nebo and Brown, Jasiel Rivero had a great performance with 18 points and 9 boards, as the yellows improved to a 12-3 record with their 9th straight Israeli league win.
The Maccabees will be back in Belgrade on Thursday to host Zalgiris as part of the EuroLeague's 28th gameday.
