For a short while, Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv's long winning streak looked like it might be in jeopardy. But a one-sided fourth quarter in Kiryat Ata, with the yellows outscoring their hosts 26-6, prolonged the fantastic run to 14 straight victory. Maccabi ended up winning 91-72 and improving to a 15-3 record in the Israeli league.
The Israeli champs did it through the defense, holding Kiryat Ata to only 27 points after the break. On offense, Jasiel Rivero was the leading scorer for the second game in a row with 16 points, while Tamir Blatt added 15 of his own.
The biggest news from the game was the return to action of Roman Sorkin, after seating out a month due to a knee injury. The Israeli big rubbed the dust off by scoring 8 points in under 10 minutes off the bench.
Maccabi will head to Belgrade on Wednesday for another crucial EuroLeague battle against Valencia.
