A first ever loss for Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv in Ljubljana, 76-81 vs Union Olimpija.
The Slovenians led 24-18 at the end of the first quarter and 42-31 at the half. They increased it to 61-45 with three minutes to go to the end of the third period. But an 11-0 run, enabled Maccabi to close the gap to 63-58 at the end of the third.
Maccabi took a 73-70 lead but then Sharp lost the ball whilst on a fast break. Olimpija benefited and scored 9 pts without reply, took a 79-73 lead and won the game by five points.
Maccabi played without the injured Yoav Saffar who will be out for six weeks. Top player for Maccabi was Quincy Lewis with 29 pts including 4 three pointers.
