A fighting second half enabled Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv to complete the double over Montepaschi Siena with a 73-63 win. This was the first win after two losses in the Euroleague and a first set back at home this season for the Italians.
Siena led 17-14 at the end of the first quarter and took advantage of Maccabi's low precentage shooting in the second, to reach half time 36-29 up. They were stil leading 42-37 when Maccabi, inspired by Yoav Saffar, went on a 13-4 run and take a 50-46 ead at the end of the third period. In the final quarter Maccabi opened a 63-53 margin but Stepanov made it 67-63. Foue points from the free throw line made sure of the win.
Andres Nocioni (19 pts, 16 rbds), led TAU Vitoria to a 86-79 home win over Olimpija Ljubljana. Rodney Buford made 5-5 in three pointers in his total of 24 pts to lead Panathinikos to a 98-84 win over Zalgiris. In Malaga a 87-75 win for Unicaja over Buducnost.
