An excellent start of the Euroleague season in Kaunas for Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv with a 102-75 win iver Zalgiris.
Maccabi dominated the game throughout and led 28-19 at the end of the first quarter. The Euroleague champions increased the lead to 42-31 and at half time had a 47-41 lead. The home team fame back to 54-51 but at the end of the third period Maccabi's advantage was 9 points (71-62). The Lithuanians, who missed four players through injuries, succumbed 13-31 in the final period and Maccabi won by 27 points.
Maccabi shot 67% for two pts, 36% for three and 82% in FT. Both teams pulled down 27 rebounds.
A dream Euroleague debut for Yaniv Green who played 26 minuts, scored 24 pts (8-8 for two, 8-10 in FT), grabbed 7 rbds & made 2 blocked shots.
