A 25 pts win on the way to the 40th Cup Final
Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv & Hapoel Migdal Jerusalem will meet on March 12th for the 8th time in the National Cup Final. In the semi finals played tonight, Maccabi crushed Hapoel Galil Elyon/Golan 88-63 and Jerusalem beat Bnei Hasharon 85-78. Those expecting after effects following Sunday`s loss in Rishon Letsion, were soon reassured by Pini Gershon`s team sweeping the first quarter 26-8. By half time Maccabi`s lead was 54-27. The northerners gave a better account of themselves in the second half (36-34 for Galil) with a final score of 88-63. Maccabi will play its 40th Final (won 35) and the 11th in a row. MVP for the night was Tal Burstein with 18 pts, 10 rbds & 5 asts. Other Maccabi scorers: Solomon 16, Parker 12, Baston 12, Vujcic 10 & 7 rbds, Shason 7, Sharp 7, Green 6 pts. Top scorer for Galil Elyon: Bratic 18, Ohayon 15 pts.
