Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv players did not like the fact that they had to play a league game on Saturday night. But they assured that the game in Herzliya will finish as quickly as possible and that they will not have to work too hard.
They got some help from Bneu Hasharon leading player Terrence Rencher who collected his third personal foul in the 8th minute, complained loudly to the referees and got a technical and saw the rest of the game from the bench. Bnei Hasharon also lost Onique through injury in the third period.
Maccabi opened with 9-1. The hosts came back to 13-13 but at the end of the first period Maccabi led 27-20. At half time the visitors were 49-39 up. The third period was Maccabi’s best (24-12). In the final quarter both coaches used all their players. Maceo Baston scored 2 three pointers and Maccabi won 99-75.
Maccabi had the edge in all parameters except rebounding (43-37 for Bnei Hahsaron including 15 offensive rbds). Maccabi had only 8 turnovers but made 16 steals & dished out 19 assists.
Anthony Parker was MVP for the night with 16 pts, 6 rbds, 3 asts, 2 stls & 1 blocked shot. Another good game for young Omri Casspi with 11 pts in 11 minutes.
