The Super League Regulations indicate that each team has to field its strongest line out for every game. It is true that KB Ramat Hasharon has already been relegated to the National League but as long as they play in the Super League they should abide by the rules. But tonight they played with only two of their foreigners. The other two have already been sent home.
Maccabi played without the injured Tal Bursetin and the two players left out were JamieArnold & Will Solomon.
The visitors led 11-10 but at the end of the first quarter Maccabi were 23-18 up. In the second period Ramat Hasharon scored only 6 pts and at half time Maccabi’s lead was 45-24. Ten minutes later the score read 69-37. Both coaches used all their bench players and eventually Maccabi won 90-61.
Derrick Sharp was Maccabi’s leading player with 17 pts in 60% FG (5-8 for three), 7 rbds & 3 asts. Kirk Penney was the top scorer with 20 pts & 6 rbds. The spectators were very pleased with the performance of Omri Casspi who played 25 minutes, scored 12 pts, dished out 6 asts & pulled down 4 rbds.
