Once again, Maccabi Fox Tel Aviv had to direct through a short roster as Giannis Sfairopoulos's squad came out of the Konch Arena with an 80:63 victory over Hapoel Be'er Sheva staying perfect in the Israeli league. Jake Cohen excelled, scoring 23 points, grabbing 7 rebounds and dishing 6 assists. Quincy Acy added 18 points and 8 rebounds as his teammate Tyler Dorsey flirted with a triple-double finishing his night with 10 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists.
Maccabi began the game with Tyler Dorsey, Elijah Bryant, Yovel Zoosman, Quincy Acy, and Jake Cohen in the starting five. The hosts took a small 10:13 advantage. However, Acy made plays on both sides of the court to lead the Yellow & Blue on a 9:0 run, 19:13. Spencer Weisz cut the lead by half with a three-pointer, 19:16 Maccabi, after 10 minutes.
Acy continued his strong showing, leading the visitors to a 28:22 lead that made Rami Hadar call a time-out. Dorsey found Dori Sahar in the corner for an open three, Amit Simhon in his Be'er Sheva debut, hit his first shot from behind the arc, 33:27. Cohen scored a beautiful hook shot, Deni Avdija splashed a three-pointer and blocked Ben Altit's shot at the end of the second to give the Yellow & Blue an 8 point lead at halftime, 41:33.
The hosts stayed scoreless for the first three and a half minutes as Cohen and Dorsey led Maccabi to an 8:0 run that gave the visitors a double-digit advantage, 49:33. Simhon kept the reds in the game, hitting his third three of the game, as Cohen preserved the Yellow & Blue's comfortable lead 61:48 going into the final quarter.
After an Acy bucket to start the fourth, Altit ignited a 7:0 Be'er Sheva run to cut down the deficit to 9, 63:54. However, Cohen, Zoosman, and Bryant were in charge to increase the lead back to double digits midway through the final quarter. Maccabi's aggressive defense shut down any attempt by the hosts as Acy extended the lead to a game-high 21 points difference, 75:54. The reds were able to reduce the deficit in the final minutes, but the Yellow & Blue come away with their 12th victory this season, 80:63.
