David Blatt and Pini Gershon Meet with Special Olympians

Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv’s head coach David Blatt, together with former coach Pini Gershon, met with some of the athletes taking part in the Special Olympics at the basketball championship Final.

As part of Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv’s partnership with Special Olympics Israel, current head coach David Blatt and former coach Pini Gershon met up with some of the Special Olympians as part of the International Basketball Week of the Special Olympics.
The event, which took place at Maccabi House in Rishon Lezion, drew 190 athletes, 20 coaches, and 50 volunteers from 20 basketball teams from around the country from various dormitories, youth hostels, special education schools and more.

From the moment they entered the gym, coaches Blatt and Gershon were surrounded by dozens of the event’s participants, and Blatt received wishes of good luck in Thursday night’s game and for the rest of the season.
The two coaches, who were very warmly received, posed for photos with the athletes and signed autographs, and Blatt offered tips to some of the athletes on proper shooting techniques.
After the games, the coaches handed out medals and trophies to the winning teams.
