One of the best defensive cold blooded three-point shooting game winning guards in the old continent. Derrick Sharp started his professional career with Maccabi Hadera in 1993 and from day one he made a name for himself due his amazing scoring ability, but it wasn't until the season of 1996 that he committed to the yellow nation.

With the perennial champs it seemed like it was a match made in heaven as the skilled guard wanted to win it all, and he lived for these moments and when they arrived, he wanted to take the shot and not just to take the shot – he knew that he's going to make it; Derrick's arrival to Tel Aviv was instrumental to the club's plans as the ownership wanted to get back on the map and with an exclamation mark.

Sharp was a part of the yellow dynasty and whatever the team needed from him – he delivered- whether it was points, defense, leadership and even mentorship. Made the crucial shot which led to the famous Zalgiris miracle. In his 15 years with Maccabi, Derrick showed in every game his tenacity, determination and relentless fighting spirit won it all - European championships, domestic championships and state cups.

A true Maccabi LEGEND.
