Maccabi Elite opened the playoff ¼ finals with a crushing 121-68 win over MB9 Ramat Hasharon.
After they were denied to play Pamesa Valencia on Thursday, the hungry Maccabi players jumped over their rivals, led 16-4 an at the end of the first quarter 26-14. By half time it was already 58-37 and at the end of the third 93-54. the highest ever score after three quarters. Maccabi players were 11-24 in three pointers.
Five players finished in double figures: David Bluthenthal with 24 pts, 5 rbds & 3 ass, Maceo Baston with 22 pts, 11 rbds, 3 stle & 2 bsts, Derrick Sharp 16 pts & 4 stls, Sarunas Jasikevicius 16 pts & 7 ass. & Deon Thomas 15 pts, 4 rbds & 3 assists.
Other Maccabi scorers: Burstein 8 pts & 6 ass, Halperin 7, Vujcic 6, Parker 5, Ben Chimol 2. Shelef played but did not score.
