The game between Maccabi and Be'er Sheva has been postponed
Due to the instructions of the Home Front Command and Israel's Police Department, Maccabi's home game as part of the sixth fixture of the Winner League has been deferred to January 20th
Maccabi Fox Tel Aviv were supposed to host Hapoel Be’er Sheva tonight as part of the Winner League’s sixth fixture, however, the game was postponed due to instructions by the Home Front Command and Israel’s Police Department.
After ten straight wins in all competitions, along with an undefeated record at home and staying the last unbeaten in the Israeli league, Giannis Sfairopoulos squad was ready to keep the momentum going before the flight to Vitoria.
The Club was waiting until the afternoon for instructions by the Home Front Command and The Israeli Basketball Super League Administration after dozen of rockets were fired from Gaza towards southern and central of Israel. The preparation towards the contest against Be’er Sheva proceeded as planned, but the game was moved to January 20th.

With the win over the Reds, the Yellow & Blue improve their record to 17:1 in the Israeli league. Avdija and Dorsey led the way with 20 points each, Stoudemire added 14
Scoring 13 three-pointers, Maccabi Fox Tel Aviv beat Hapoel Be’er Sheva 98:74, raising their domestic league record to 17:1. Tyler Dorsey flirted with a triple-double, scoring 20 points, grabbing 8 rebounds and dishing 8 assists while Deni Avdija scored the same amount adding to that 7 rebounds. Amare Stoudemire also performed well with 14 points and 6 rebounds.
Maccabi opened with Tyler Dorsey, Elijah Bryant, Deni Avdija, Jake Cohen, and Othello Hunter in the starting five. After 5 quick Be’er Sheva points, Hunter put the hosts on the board with a fadeaway jumper while Cohen and Bryant were in charge to flip the lead, 7:5 Maccabi. Bryant took control, scoring two three-pointers and dishing an assist to Hunter; however, on the other end, John Petrucelli and Da’Sean Butler kept the visitors within striking distance, 15:13. Avdija and Amar’e Stoudemire brought the lead up to 7, but T.J Williams hit 5 of the visitors last 6 points of the quarter to cut Maccabi’s lead down to 1 after the first 10 minutes, 22:21.
Aaron Jackson scored his first bucket in the local league, and a couple of driving layups by Dorsey recaptured the 7 point advantage, 28:21. Hunter and Dorsey kept on attacking the basket, but three straight Be’er Sheva three-pointers reduced the lead down to three, which made Giannis Sfairopoulos call a timeout at 37:34. Hunter knocked down a monster slam, Cohen drew a three-point play, and a red hot Dorsey gave the Yellow & Blue a double-digit advantage 52:40. However, Butler scored two beautiful buckets in the paint that decreased the lead down to 8 at halftime, 52:44.
Jackson and Stoudemire restored the double-digit edge, as Bryant and Avdija led an 8:0 run that put the host’s up in front, 69:52. The visitors scored 6 straight points that cut the lead down to 12, but a three by Cohen and Dorsey’s first bucket of the second half gave the Yellow & Blue their largest lead of the night heading into the final quarter, 77:60.
With the start of the fourth, Spencer Weisz and Steve Zack tried to create a momentum for the visitors, but Dori Sahar added a three of his, and Avdija continued his impressive night giving Maccabi a 20 point advantage, 84:64. Stoudemire collected points from inside, as the game headed to garbage time. Maccabi defeats Be’er Sheva, 98:74.
