On Friday: Maccabi faces a tough challenge in Munich

The Yellows will hope to get a first Euroleague win on the road against Andrea Trinchieri's team. Kattash: "It won't be easy but we feel we can do it"

An away win – this is what Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv wants to achieve, and on Friday (9:30 pm Israel time, 2:30 pm EST) Oded Kattash’s players will get another chance to meet this goal when they face  Bayern Munich in Germany.

Maccabi’s record entering the game is 5:5, better than Bayern’s 3:7, but the Yellows will need to overcome the absence of Wade Baldwin and Darrun Hilliard that stayed in Israel. Andrea Trincieri’s team started the season with five losses in a row, but most of the defeats were in very close games.

It’s not easy to play against Bayern, certainly not away and certainly not when they are recovering from a rocky start to the season,” said Kattash. “They are a very experienced and well-trained team. They know exactly what they are doing. It’s not going to be simple, like every other Euroleague game and we are a little short, but we feel it can be done”.

Maccabi stumbles away against Bayern Munich

Despite an incredible performance from Lorenzo Brown (36 points, 7 assists), the Yellows couldn't clinch a win on the road and lost 89:98 to the Germans

Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv will keep looking for its first away victory in the Euroleague for at least 10 more days. This is the bottom line after the 89:98 defeat the Yellows suffered today at the hands of Bayern Munich in Germany.

Oded Kattash knew he needed players to contribute more due to the absence of Wade Baldwin and Darrun Hilliard and got to witness an incredible performance from Lorenzo Brown (36 points, 7 assists) and significant numbers from Jalen Adams (21 points). On the other hand, no other player really stepped up this evening.

In addition, Maccabi suffered a bad shooting evening and wasn’t strong enough defensively against the talented Bavarians. The Yellows will now return to domestic action and face Hapoel Beer Sheva away on Monday before hosting Valencia on Thursday.
