On Thursday: Maccabi faces Holon in Winner's cup
The Yellows will battle with Guy Goodes's team for a ticket to the tournament's final. Lorenzo Brown will make a debut
Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv will continue its journey towards the first title of this season on Thursday (9 pm, Israel time). After the victory over Gilboa/Galil, Oded Kattash’s players will meet Hapoel Holon hoping to grab the ticket to Winner’s cup final which will take place on October 23.
Lorenzo Brown was included in Maccabi’s squad and will make his debut in yellow. Austin Hollins, Jarrell Martin, and Darrun Hilliard will rest. The 12 players in the squad will therefore be John DiBartolomeo, Lorenzo Brown, Wade Baldwin, Rafi Menko, Roman Sorkin, Guy Pnini, Jake Cohen, Tomer Agmon, Alex Poythress, Josh Nebo, Yiftach Ziv, and Bonzie Colson.
Maccabi sets up derby in Winner's cup final
The Yellows downed Hapoel Holon 97:91 and will face Hapoel Tel-Aviv in the final. Lorenzo Brown scored 13 points on his debut
Lorenzo Brown looked great on his debut with 13 points and 12 assists, and Alex Poythress added 17 in a game in which Maccabi already held a 25-point lead. it was an outstanding display from all of Oded Kattash’s players.
Josh Nebo (14 points) dominated the paint, Wade Baldwin (14) provided points when it mattered, and Rafi Menko (14) and Bonzie Colson (11) were the X-factors on the wings.
Now Maccabi will start its preparation for the real thing – the start of the Euroleague with a home game against Zalgiris Kaunas on October 6th.
