On Sunday: Maccabi wants to clinch finals berth

The Yellows will try to sweep Bnei Herzeliya in game two at Hayovel gym

After battling past Bnei Hezeliya in Winner’s league semifinals game 1, Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv is now one win away from the finals. On Sunday (20:30 local, 1:30 pm ET), the Yellows will try to close out the series and avoid a third and deciding game at home.

The same squad as in game one will be available to Avi Even, as league rules do not allow roster changes in the middle of a series. This means that Jalen Reynolds, Angelo Caloiaro, and Khyri Thomas will sit out game two at Hayovel gym.

The winner of the series will face Hapoel Holon or Hapoel Jerusalem in the finals. Holon leads the semis series 1:0 as of now.

Maccabi loses game 2, will host the series decider on Wednesday

The Yellows were defeated 81:97 in Herzeliya and will have to win at home to secure the ticket to the finals. Williams scored 18 points

Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv will have to close out the semifinals series and secure a ticket to Winner’s league finals on Wednesday in a winner-takes-all game at Menora Mivtachim Arena. This was decided after the Yellows lost 81:97 to Bnei Hezeliya in game 2.

The Israeli champions didn’t perform as expected at Hayovel gym, and except for Derrick Williams (18 points), didn’t rise to the occasion. Avi Even’s players will have to regroup now and up their level in the decider, and the good news is that this time the yellow fans will be there to support them. See you on Wednesday.
