On Sunday: Maccabi looks to settle the score with Herzliya
The Yellows will try to avenge the loss to Oren Aharoni's team in the first round. Jalen Adams and Suleiman Braimoh are on the roster for the game
It wasn’t a fun weekend for Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv following the painful loss to Hapoel Jerusalem in the state cup final. But the season continues, and on Sunday at 7 pm Isreal time (12 pm EST), another battle awaits the Yellows – an away game against Bnei Herzelya at Hayovel Arena.
Oren Aharoni’s team defeated Maccabi at Menora Mivtachim Arena in Winner’s league last round and is on a great run, having won six of its previous eight. Nevertheless, this is a must-win game for the Yellows if they want to stay in the first place.
Maccabi will miss Lorenzo Brown and Josh Nebo. Jalen Adams and Suleiman Braimoh will take their place on the roster, alongside Roman Sorkin, John DiBartolomeo, Jake Cohen, Yiftach Ziv, Wade Baldwin, Jarell Martin, Bonzie Colson, Rafi Menko, Guy Pnini, and Tomer Agmon.

An even first quarter at Hayovel Gym was followed by a second quarter in which Oded Kattash’s team produced a run that practically put the game away. Without Lorenzo Brown and Josh Nebo, Jake Cohen stood out with 19 points. Bonzie Colson added 16.
This evening will be remembered for another reason. Aged 39, Guy Pnini made his 512 league appearance and became the all-time leader in Israeli league games played. He and his team will next face Bayern Munich on Thursday, hoping to make one more step toward the Euroleague playoffs.
