On Thursday: Maccabi fights Jerusalem for first big title of the season
The Yellows hope to put their hands on the trophy for the 46th time in history against the best defensive team in the league
On its route to the final, Maccabi defeated Bnei Herzliya and Ironi Ness Ziona in the quarter and semi-final, respectively. The Reds, who will play tomorrow’s game at their home gym, Pais Arena, came through with wins over Hapoel Tel Aviv and Hapoel Haifa.
Maccabi and Jerusalem met 12 times in the state cup final, with the Yellows winning 8 of the last 11. The last encounter was in 2017, and Maccabi triumphed with an emphatic 82:68 win. The key challenge Oded Kattash will need to tackle is breaking down Jerusalem’s defense, which is the best in the league (74.1 points allowed per game).

The Yellows suffered a bad shooting night, fell behind early, and couldn't catch the Reds. Brown and Colson scored 15 each
From then on, Oded Kattash’s team chased the Reds and, despite a comeback attempt that almost bared fruit, ended up with a painful loss. Lorenzo Brown and Bonzie Colson scored 15 each for Maccabi, which will try to recover ahead of the battles that still await in Winner’s league and the Euroleague.
