On Tuesday: Maccabi seeks another triumph in Barcelona
The Yellows will try to upset the Catalans on the road for the third time in a row and get a significant boost in their battle for top-8. Kattash: "We would need to play a perfect game to win"
Barcelona leads the historic Euroleague head-2-head with Maccabi 17:13. Still, if Oded Kattash’s players need a shot of confidence, they can find it in the outcome of the last two away games against Sarunas Jasikevicius’s team. Maccabi won them both – a dramatic 68:67 in 2020/21 season and an emphatic 104:80 victory last year.
“We have two difficult games ahead of us,” said Kattash, also referring to Thursdya’s encounter with Valencia. “We are playing without Lorenzo Brown, and this is significant. We also need to think about load management and expanding the rotation, without giving up the game, of course. It’s very challenging”.
“I think we’re playing better now than in our previous game against Barcelona,” the Yellows’ coach added. “There is no doubt that they have one of the most talented squads in the Euroleague, so we’ll have to play perfectly to get the desired result.”
