With their backs up against the wall the yellows know that in order to have a shot at the playoffs there's no other scenario than winning the game. Spahija's squad opened the game posed as they managed to impose their will from the tipoff taking the early lead. The locals took control over the game as they led in double digits during the second quarter and also in the third however the yellows managed to comeback

Coach Spahija's starting five: Cole, Roll, Kane, Thomas and Art. Thomas and Art helped Maccabi take the early 2:5 lead a minute and a half into the game. The hosts tied the game (9:9) but Roll and Kane made sure the yellows will stay ahead with the 9:14 lead, the locals kept their composure as they finished the first quarter ahead 22:18.

Baskonia increased their lead at the beginning of the second quarter (25:18), Jackson and Art made sure Maccabi will stay close to the Basques (22:27), however the Spaniards increased their lead double digits lead (34:24), Kane completed an 8:0 run by the yellows with a buzzer beating three pointer (34:32) but picked out an unsportsmanlike foul that allowed the locals to stay ahead (38:32). Jackson had the final say in the first half as after 20 minutes of basketball the yellows trail 38:34.

The locals increased their lead to 43:34 at the beginning of the third quarter, Jackson, Thomas and Cole trimmed Baskonia's lead to 45:41. Garino opened the fourth quarter just like he ended the third as he single handedly increased Baskonia's lead to 60:53 forcing coach Spahija to call for a timeout. The yellows came back within a striking distance, Baskonia reacted but Maccabi still remained close to the locals with just under five minutes remaining in the game (67:62). The locals increased their lead to 73:64 with just under three minutes remaining in the game. Janning's three pointer gave Baskonia the 80:69 lead from which the yellows couldn't recover as Baskonia claimed the last playoff spot on Maccabi's expense with 83:72 win.
