Despite leading in the first half of the Crete tournament finals, Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv lost the game to the EuroLeague runner ups Olympiacos 90-82. Pierre Jackson finished as the leading scorer with 20p and 5a, Roll added 10.

After six preparation games, Maccabi's next game will be played on Sunday (October 1st) in what is expected to be an instant classic: The Derby (Toto Arena, Holon).

Maccabi opened the Crete finals with Jackson, Roll, Mashour, Bolden and Parakhouski. Mashour was very active right from the start and put Maccabi up 6-4 after two minutes, Roll added athree pointer, but the Greeks have retaliated with a run of their own and got the lead 15-11 after five minutes. Zoosman scored two three pointers to tie the game, however it was Olympiacos to finish the first quarter ahead 23-22.

The second quarter started with both teams struggling to take controlover the game, but as the second quarter progressed the yellow and blue squad had their way as Cohen and Thomas have put Maccabi up by six. The score at halftime was 49-44 for the away team as Olympiacos finished it with successful free throws.

The third quarter, the red team from Piraeus have stepped up theirdefense allowing them to start a 15-0 run which gave them a 68-55 lead. Maccabi managed to cut down the deficit to 68-60 with great plays by Jackson and Thomas. Spahija's squad opened the fourth quarter on a good note as Jake Cohen made it 68-64, however a technical foul to the Maccabi bench allowed Olympiacos to get a nine point lead, Kane and Roll brought Maccabi close but then Olympiacos took control and won 90-82.  

Scored For Maccabi: Jackson 20 & 5a, Roll 10, Thomas, Mashour Cohen and Kane 7, John and Zoosman 6 Bolden and Parakhouski 4, Tyus and Segev 2.
