The Yellows lifted the title for the ninth time in their history and ended a perfect week before the Euroleague opener against Bayern Munich on Thursday. Roman Sorkin was excellent with 16 points, ten rebounds, and 5 blocks. Nunnally was crowned MVP

The pre-season Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv experienced was far from ideal, but Giannis Sfairopoulos wasn't looking for excuses - he was looking for victories. That's exactly what he and his team achieved by defeating Hapoel Eilat 92:62 and winning the Winner's cup for the ninth time in the club's history.

Without injured Ante Zizic and Yiftach Ziv, Maccabi dominated the final from beginning to end and sealed it with a 14:0 run late in the 4th quarter to make the win even more emphatic. James Nunnally was named the final MVP, but Roman Sorkin was the one guy who stole the show with incredible defense and 16 points (10 rebounds).



Now the focus shifts to Thursday. The yellows will then meet Bayern Munich in the Euroleague's first matchday, and coach Sfairopoulos can be optimistic in light of the ability his players displayed defensively throughout the Winner's Cup (no opponent has scored more than 70 points).
