Olympiacos, who were one Sergio Llull shot from winning the EuroLeague title last season, lost their two leading players over the summer in F Sasha Vezenkov and G Kostas Sloukas. They replaced them by bringing in F Luke Sikma and G Nigel Williams-Goss, along with veteran C Nikola Milutinov. Yet so far, the reds from Piraeus are struggling to replicate last season’s success and sit at the 10th place with a 3-4 record.

“We are coming off of two wins and we would like to continue that against a very strong opponent”, said Maccabi’s head coach Oded Kattash, “The key is controlling the rebounds which is critical for us to be able to run and score easy points”.
“Playing in an empty arena is tough so we have to come out with the right energy from the start”, commented C Josh Nebo, “We also need to be able to execute the game plan the coaches prepare for us”.
F Bonzie Colson also chimed in ahead of the contest: “We need to rebound the ball on both sides of the floor, play hard, limit our turnovers, continue to move the ball offensively and just play the game that we love”.
