Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv advanced to the Winner Cup semi-finals with a commanding 94-67 win over Ironi Kiryat Ata on Tuesday. The yellow squad used a 22-2 run in the second quarter to seperate themselves from the rivals, and sailed for the win in the second half.
The Maccabees will face Hapoel Holon in Holon on Friday in the semis, while the other ticket to the finals will be contested between Herzliya and Ramat Gan.
It was the Israeli champs' first official game of the season and also their first on Israeli soil, in front of the yellow fans. And Oded Kattash's men delivered with a sharp-shooting display and a strong defensive effort.
Rokas Jokubaitis led Maccabi's scorers with 15 points, while fellow point guard Tamir Blatt added 14. Roman Sorkin scored 12 points along with 9 board, and Jordan Loyd chipped in with 10 points.
