At the end of day four of Euroleague's regular season. Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv tops the standing in Group B with 4 wins after crushing Scavolini Pesaro 123-73. Barcelona suffered its first loss, 98-102 at home vs Zalgiris Kaunas. The 123 points is a Euroleague record.
The first quarter gave no hint of things to come. The visitors led 21-17 and Maccabi tool a one point lead (26-25) into the second most amazing period. Maccabi's defense was outstanding and the Scavolini players managed to score only 8 points to Maccabi's 34 and at the half Maccabi led 60-33. The second half was garbage time. The biggest margin was 52 points and eventually the Euroleague champions won by 50 points. Saras played only 6 minutes in the first period. and Tal Burstein suffered an ankle injury.
This was really a team's victory. Seven players scored in double figures. Maccabi managed 63% in FG and 88% in FT. They dominated the rebound 45 (including 15 offensive) to 26 by the Italian team.
