Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv kept their winning streak alive with a 100-87 victory over Hapoel Holon on the road. Maccabi had six players in double figures, led by Sylven Landesberg who was outstanding with 29 points (7 three pointers) and 8 rebounds. Jake Cohen had a great game with 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 blocks, and Devin Smith added 14 points and 9 rebounds. Jeremy Pargo contributed 12 points and 8 assists, and MarQuez Haynes scored 11 points.
Jeremy Pargo, Devin Smith, Yogev Ohayon, Jake Cohen, and Brian Randle started for Maccabi. The game was close in the early minutes, with the score tied at 9 halfway through the quarter and with Smith suppling most of the points for the yellows. Three pointers by Sylven Landesberg (2) and Cohen on the right wing put Maccabi up 28-24 as the period came to an end.
Landesberg with another triple, points in the paint from Sofo Schortsanitis, and MarQuez Haynes with his first points of the game, made it 35-27 Maccabi after two and a half minutes. Cohen continued to play well, reaching double figures and causing Holon to take a timeout to regroup as they trailed 40-29 in the middle of the period. The hosts came out and ran 7-1 to cut their deficit to 6 with three minutes left in the half. Landesberg (dunk off an alley oop from Pargo), Haynes, and Pargo extended Maccabi's lead to 49-38 going into the break.
It look Maccabi awhile to get moving as the third quarter got underway, but Pargo protected Maccabi's lead with a one-handed slam and one, 56-44. Cohen downed another trey and added another huge block to his stats at the other end, and an incredible string of four threes by Landesberg increased Maccabi's lead to 80-56 as the period came to an end.
Holon made another attempt at a comeback and cut their deficit to 18 with six minutes left in the game. Landesberg and Haynes responded, but the hosts continued to chip away at Maccabi's lead, making it 91-76 at the halfway mark in the period. The home team couldn't do much more that that though, while Smith, Sofo and Ohayon scored for the visitors. In the end Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv defeated Hapoel Holon 100-87.
