Maccabi Tel Aviv BC wishes to thank assistant coach Josep Maria Berrocal, who leaves the club after two years. The Spaniard joined the team in 2022 and served on head coach Oded Kattash's staff that won two championships and had two appearances in the EuroLeague playoffs.
"It is always difficult to leave a place that you love and have so many friends in", wrote Berrocal on his X profile. "Our family will always remember our two seasons with Maccabi Tel Aviv. I am grateful for the opportunity to work at a great club and live in a fantastic country, where we all hope peace will soon return. When one door closes, another opens".
The club's chairman, Shimon Mizrahi, bid farewell: "I greatly appreciate and respect Josep's two seasons with us – two difficult years that included a challenging period in Belgrade, where part of the time he was without his family. I wish to thank him for his professionalism and dedication, along with the energies and knowledge that helped the club".
