It's not always pretty, and it's not always smooth—but Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv continues to find ways to win. Oded Kattash's squad survived another dramatic game, defeating Ironi Ness Ziona 103-98 in overtime at the Lev HaMoshava Arena.
Trevion Williams starred with 23 points and no less than 16 rebounds, alongside clutch plays from Rokas Jokubaitis (17 points) and Roman Sorkin (16 points, all scored in the second half).
The reigning champions trailed for most of the game, as the hosts opened the night with a three-point barrage and built a double-digit lead. However, even without the injured Jasiel Rivero and Jaylen Hoard, without Omer Mayer, who suffered from back pain, and without Levi Randolph, who was given rest, Maccabi fought hard and never gave up. Tamir Blatt recorded a double-double with 12 points and 11 assists, while Marial Shayok (11 points) and Jimmy Clark (10 points) also reached double figures.
With eight wins in their last nine games, the yellow-and-blue will now fly to Belgrade to face Virtus Bologna in the EuroLeague.
