Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv is looking ahead, signing a 6 year contract with Israeli forward Itay Segev (17, 2.04 meters), who played for the Wingate Academy Youth Team for the last two years. Segev, who was born in Kfar Tabor and grew up playing in the youth department of the Jezreel Valley, will play for the club’s youth team this season, while also being a part of the professional team.
Recently, Segev was invited to play in FIBA’s Basketball without Borders, considered one of the best camps in European basketball, where he was joined by others also considered to be among the most promising young players on the continent. Today (Thursday), Segev and Idan Zalmanson will begin the European Championship (Level II) along with the U18 National Team. Maccabi sees the young man as having the potential to become one of the leading players in Israel in the future.
